MassDOT continues toll plaza demolition

Boston, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is continuing the planned demolition of the toll plazas along I-90 highway also known as the Massachusetts Turnpike. This process is expected to take about a month to complete, and will cause a twist on the way drivers go along the route.

MassDOT said on its Twitter account it expects drivers to drive as slow as 15mph as it performs the historic work on the highway.

Drivers are being channeled into new traffic patterns on the outer portions of the toll plazas.

Instead of the familiar way of tolling where drivers had the option of either paying the toll with cash or using the EZ electronic tolling system, all drivers now will be required to use “All Electronic Tolling”.
